Granna’s Onion Soup
This looks really yummy and like a simpler French onion soup. Can't wait to test it out!

6TB butter
8 medium onions, peeled and sliced
1 1/2 quarts boiling water'
7 beef bouillon cubes
1 garlic clove, chopped
1 cup of dry white wine
S&P
(optional) shredded swiss cheese
(optional) baguette, sliced to 1" rounds

Melt the butter in a large stockpot over medium heat

Add the onions and cook for ten minutes, stirring frequently

Add your boiling water, bouillon cubes and garlic, stirring well

Cover and simmer on low for 30-45 minutes, stirring occasionally

Add the wine and S&P, cook for two minutes

If you opt for optional, lay the baguette rounds on a foil-lined cookie sheet

Preheat your oven to 325 degrees

Sprinkle generously with swiss cheese and toast in oven for 6-10 minutes

Remove from oven and carefully lay 1-2 of these cheese croutons onto your piping hot soup!
